One Continuum of Excellence - Playgroup to Grade 9

Every stage of learning at Sikri Junior Academy is purposefully designed to build on the last - nurturing skills, values, and a lifelong love of learning. Our fully CBC-aligned academic programme takes learners from their first days in Playgroup through to the completion of Junior Secondary, giving them a seamless, well-supported educational journey from start to finish.

Our teachers are trained, our classrooms are equipped, and our approach is built around the individual learner. At every level, we combine academic rigour with pastoral care - because both matter. Playgroup: Foundation Through Play

Our Playgroup programme nurtures each child's natural abilities, builds self-confidence, and supports holistic development in a safe and caring environment. Children aged 2–6 learn through play, developing literacy and numeracy foundations, creative expression, fine and gross motor skills, and positive social relationships. Learning through play is the foundation of everything we do at this stage, setting the tone for lifelong love of learning.

Lower Primary: Building Literacy & Numeracy

Strong foundations in English, Kiswahili, and Mathematics are built through interactive, learner-centred lessons in Lower Primary (Grades 1–3, ages 6–9). Every child is supported to develop literacy and numeracy confidence before moving to Upper Primary. Environmental activities and creative arts complement core subjects, ensuring that learners see themselves as capable, curious learners who can tackle challenges with confidence. Our teachers use a range of teaching methods to reach every learning style.

Upper Primary: Deeper Learning & Thinking

Building on Lower Primary foundations, Upper Primary learners (Grades 4–6, ages 9–12) engage more deeply with all core CBC subjects. Critical thinking, project work, and independent learning become central to the classroom experience. Science and technology, social studies, and digital literacy skills are introduced alongside continued emphasis on strong English and Kiswahili. Research projects become a regular feature of learning, teaching learners to ask questions, investigate, and draw their own conclusions. Junior Secondary: Preparing for the Future

Our Junior Secondary programme (Grades 7–9, ages 12–15) delivers advanced CBC learning with an emphasis on analytical thinking, career exploration, and leadership development. Learners are prepared comprehensively for the transition to senior secondary education with rigorous academics in sciences, mathematics, languages, and humanities. Career guidance and leadership opportunities help each learner begin to envision their post-secondary path. Senior learners take on roles in student government, mentoring younger peers, and leading co-curricular clubs—developing the character and competence needed to succeed beyond Sikri.
